All these popular movies and TV shows about comic books must have gotten to our heads, because we’ve got it in our heads to share how LiveSurvey got started. That’s right—it’s time for a LiveSurvey origin story!
It Was a Dark and Stormy Night
Years ago, the Chief Experience Officer of MAPS Credit Union realized they were falling out of touch with their members. To address the growing disconnect, they decided to start surveying their members to see how they could better serve them.
Unfortunately, there were only two basic types of survey platforms on the market. One the one side were popular, generic survey tools. On the other side were companies that offered a fully-managed survey experience.

Which Survey Platform to Choose?
Unfortunately for MAPS Credit Union, neither type of survey platform could deliver what they needed. What they needed was:
- White-labeled surveys
- A flexible and convenient platform
- Real-time survey delivery
- Real-time survey data
- An intuitive dashboard to understand results at a glance
- Something affordable
They looked, but they found nothing appropriate. So, like any good hero, they saw a serious need, and they worked toward filling that need. They began developing their own credit union member survey platform that checked all the necessary boxes.
A Star Is Born!
LiveSurvey was created out of a specific set of credit union needs. To that end, it allows credit unions to quickly and easily begin (or continue) surveying members to gain valuable member insight.
When LiveSurvey was completed, it worked very well. Managing it was easier than it was with generic survey platforms, because it didn’t need to be configured to address credit union-specific concerns. It was also far more flexible and customizable than anything from expensive consulting groups with comprehensive services.
LiveSurvey was highly functional for MAPS Credit Union. They knew they had a winner.
Sharing is Caring
One of the best parts about the credit union industry is its focus on community. Credit unions know how to work together, collaborate, and share.
At LiveSurvey, we’ve worked to white-label our survey platform. If MAPS Credit Union could benefit from it, we figured other credit unions could as well. We also added in survey templates to give other credit unions an idea about which surveys performed best or gave the most useful insight.
Finally, we started this blog so that all credit unions—regardless of which survey platform they choose—can find useful news, information, and strategy pertaining to credit union member surveys.
