Hey credit unions…

Ever thought about what text messages would do for your survey response rate? Well, we’ve made it really easy to find out!

Now, LiveSurvey features text messaging capabilities. Our credit union-specific platform can send SMS survey alerts to members based on all of our usual triggers.

Read on to learn more!

Why SMS Survey Alerts?

Credit unions see better email deliverability and open rates than most organizations. After all, members are keen to stay on top of their finances.

But despite higher open rates, those opens aren’t guaranteed. Sure, most of your emails about loans or account alerts will get clicks. But regular marketing emails aren’t must-reads.

And unfortunately, neither are survey requests.

It’s very easy for members to ignore survey request emails. Even if they’ve just exited a branch, they may already be on their next errand, and your survey will make its way toward the bottom of their inbox and then on to page two.

That is… if they see the email notification at all.

Text messages are much harder to ignore. And they feel a bit more personal. So, when you send an SMS survey alert, your member will be less likely to miss or ignore it.

When Do Members Receive These Text Messages?

LiveSurvey’s SMS survey alerts can be triggered any time your usual email notifications would go out. So, a member can receive a survey invite minutes after a transaction.

For example, text messages would go out whenever a member might usually trigger a survey. This differs for each credit union, but some common triggers include:

  • Visiting a branch
  • Completing a loan application
  • Using the mobile banking app

Some surveys may be scheduled instead of triggered. Think member satisfaction surveys like NPS scores or member polls (relationship surveys) to test the market for new products or service changes.

You can be selective about your SMS survey alerts, too. If you’re worried about bothering your members, you can turn them off or limit them as needed.

LiveSurvey’s new SMS survey alerts are just that:

Alerts.

Currently, members don’t have the ability to take the survey over text. Rather, the text simply directs them to the survey you sent via email. A truly text-based survey runs into too many compliance issues to be viable for now!
